I use turps to clean the crapp off the filter. then let it dry for a few hours and reapply the genuine oil.

visit www.uniflow.com.au and follow their procedure precisely - you'll have no trouble.

Generally takes me about 30 mins, squeeze turps through it then i usually get lazy, flick the filter gently so that the turps flies off onto the ground (I tore my very old filter by doing that and being careless but i was due for a new one anyway) and then after 10 mins in the sun it's pretty much dry, re-oil and replace. Then you just have to clean the sticky crap off your hands :D

thats when YOU use the turps :D

or use a plastic bag and do the oiling in that so you dont get the crap all over you.

plastic bag? are you a girl? :)

yeah I wash my hands in turps to get the filter oil off, and then wash with solvol (or whatever, that grey industrial strength soap bar) to get rid of some of the turps..
