is it worth fitting a late model supra incoola on a 180sx???.
does it flow good?
what is the pressure drop of that coola?
or save for a gtr coola?
If you have to go really budget then the Supra cooler will be an improvement over your stock one.
But I would save for a GTR (or near equivalent ) one.
The Supra core has a lower (thermal) efficiency due to it's short tubes, and higher pressure drop than it should because of the ratshit design of the end tanks. A good core to fit your car better is only a few hundred over the price of a Supra core, so it will be a better option. The fitting will cost about the same regardless and add up to as much or more than the core anyway.
cheers
"Intercooler".
Please.
There is an "er" on the end ... every time I see it misspelled I think of lime cordial ... :)
But Forg, it sounds way cooler if you say it coola.:D :D :D

In-ta-coo-la! Fully schick maate!
For about the same money as a Supra cooler you can pick up a Jap spec VR4 cooler. They are like the evo ones just a bit smaller, they should shit on the supra ones for flow.

the supra core (7m) has a 3psi pressure drop accross the core so im led to belive. i have a polished vr4 one sitting in my bedroom atm..
ITS FORSALE if your interested.. (aint even on the car yet :D ) im gonna get a bigger one to go nicely wih the gt25
if ur interested email me @ 4wdturbo@iinet.net.au
Polar, no use saying 3psi pressure drop if you don't indicate at what pressure, could be at 100psi which would make it a kick ass core.

to be totally correct there is no use stating what the pressure drop is if u dont state the flow rate...
It will have 0 pressure drop at 100psi if there is no flow...
Ithink what polar is trying to say is that is will drop 3psi on a supra running 14psi, which would be enough air for abouts 180kw i spose

7M Supra intercoolers are pretty ordinary, but when the original poster said "late model Supra intercooler" I assumed he meant the 93+ Supra with the 2JZ-GTE - and it has quite a nice intercooler which flows very well. I guess it would help if we knew which one was being discussed!

yeh. in lamens terms - as far as 2nd hard cooler go there are better on the market :)
but a supra core is like the gtr of coolers compared to the stock s13 ones :)
