View Full Version : Autronic on Lexus V8 warmup settings
My lexus V8 will stall if I give it a bootfull when it is cold. ie I run it for 30 sec to a minute at idol then it hesitates when I take off. once it is warm I don't have this problem. What do I need to change in my ecu warmup settings? It is fitted in a boat with an Autronic running it.

Howdy,
I don't have a Lexus V8, but i do have an Autronic. I had the same problems. I just fiddled with the 'Warm Up Enrichment Multiplier', which basically wasn't previously set at all. It is a function of Manifold Pressure and Coolant Temp. Basically, I increased the values around the 'cool engine/low-medium pressure' segment. I totally plucked these figures from nowhere, so no, there was no science behind it. It worked quite well. Well - doesn't stall when cold any more, probably just uses a bucketload of fuel I guess. Turbo_RA28 on these forums used my map recently (he has the same ECU/engine combo), and he said it was pretty rich. But, that's the price you pay for doing it yourself I suppose. (and not having a proper idle control motor thingy).
Matt.
Thanks,
I will try that next time I have it on the water. Timing dosen't have much effect?

It might... but I'm not real smart, so I didn't play with that.

The normal settings are -10deg and 60 deg for coolant and 0 and 100 for load. If you have these row and column numbers make the value for -10deg/0 load 1.5 and the value for -10deg/100 load 1.3 and the values under the 60deg both 0. Most engines run pretty good with these values.
