Hi all,

Anyone know if the Bosch x-351 injectors have been superceded by something else? The auto electrician is having trouble getting hold of them, and I'd kinda planned on using these 'cos they've allegedly got a good spray-pattern as well as having the fuel-delivery potential I'm after.

Anyone know?

I think the partnumber has been changed from 351 to 363 or something, still the same injectors/flow etc.

Thanks heaps for that info, you're 100% correct.

I had a squiz around the web to confirm what you said (as an aside, it turns out the V8 Taxi racers use the same injector), and then rang Bosch directly, where a very officious and "I won't give out any info unless you give me the exact part number" man told me that the 0 280 150 363 replaces the 0 280 150 351.

Mind you, RRP at Repco scared the bewillikers outta me ... :)

These injectors are so big because they are originally from a single center point injected engine. As a concerquence there spray pattern is very wide to suit and is not what I would call ideal in a multipoint situation(but everyone seems to like using them!). What horsepower are you looking for? I would use the 036/024/015 or the 13B Turbo injector inpreference. The other big problem with the 351/363 is that they are 0.5 ohm injectors and so they draw heaps of current and some computers have trouble driving them.

Erm ... they're not all that big are they? From what I can tell, they're going to be just about right to give me a bit of headroom with the target being 300hp (I've got 4 injectors). They're certainly not as large as the Ford Motorsport injectors (403?) that other people are putting on similar cars.

The ECU shouldn't have any problems, they're listed in the manual.

Here has some good info:

So they are a little bigger than the 403's.

Unfortunately, that table doesn't tell me anything when comparing the two; the fuel pressure ratings aren't listed for any of the 403's, and for the 351's the fuel delivery figures don't seem to be as linear with fuel pressure as I'd expect.

At the moment, the only facts I have are that a friend with a car that has an engine capacity similar to mine & a horsepower output similar to mine is using the same number of 351 injectors as I'm planning on using, and his car runs perfectly. So ... that's what I'm going to run with, and if I hit problems I'll come moping back with my tail between my legs ... :)
