Hi im just wondering is anyone can reccommend a good 2nd hand diff for a 2.6 GH Sigma.

It needs to be something that is able to transfer something around the 350-450hp range, and obviously a LSD. Im just wondering if there are any diffs on cars out there that are big enough and have a similar ratio to the one on the Sigma. THanx ppls

Until you start breaking axles that is.

The standard diff is not up to the task. Welding it up will only shorten the lifespan.
The cheapest would be the jap diff out of a scorpion which should bolt up if you get a GH scorp unit (I put a GK Scorp into GH which required some mods). LSDs however are not readily available.

Standard sigma 2.6 ratio is 3.42:1

The best option would either be Borg Warner shortened from a Commodore or a shortened ford 9".

you may well find that pajero centres will fit in the scorpion housing.

i've seen a borg warner setup made..
the original diff is a small type borgwarner.. you'll find, its the same as a cortina diff.. infact, i think they will bolt in vice versa.

whats done in a conversion is that you get the tubes cut off the orignal housing, and welded onto a larger borg warner center bit, so you can put the standard type centre in (with 4 pinnion/lsd), and run 28 spline axles.. obviously the axles need to be custom made...
I know that conversion costs approx $1200. and you run your brakes

you could also enquire about a hilux diff made up..

If you spend an afternoon at the wreckers with a tape measure, you'll probably find a Hilux/Hiace axle that's about the right size to fit in a Sigma. I did this a while ago to find a suitable donor for my 77 Celica, and I found a pretty wide range of sizes easily available. If you can find an axle that doesn't need to be cut down, you'll save yourself HEAPS of money.

I dunno if it would fit, but an R200 LSD would do the trick.

There is a guy in the states running an Buick turbo pulling low 10's with the R200....cant kill 'em
