Anybody out there who has designed his own bodykit? i got some ideas what i want and i talked to one of my friends who is a panle beater and he told me the following:
Make a mould of the bodykit in the form i want it with a soft material like polystryrene, then spray it with mould something (stuff which will make it easier to remove the fibre-glass from the mould. After that just plaster the whole lot with several layers of fibregalss and glue at sensetive areas (like edges) aluminium structs. After drying sand it and remove it from the bould and add nuts to the areas where the kit is to be fixed to the vehicle. Then just get it painted and fitted ... :)
Anyhow if somebody made his own bodykit already, how long did it take you, how much did it cost you and how did it turn out (pics maybe :) ). Do i have to look for anything special or take care of specific things?
I know that there are some rules i have to comply with eg: 10cm of the read, etc etc i know that, but do u think overall is it worth the effort, i mean i like making stuff (was laways good at it), but what i mean is: will the result be worth the effort of making your own?
Things like having something unique and saving some money actuallt got me to this idea ...
Thx guys
