Well, the RB20DET is finally back together and running. But while I was doing stuff, I managed to get significant water in the sump (don't ask!). Ive drained all the water and the oil (fairly new Castrol synthetic), but the new oil (something cheap and nasty) is starting to emulsify the residual water.

Any suggestions on how to remove the last of the water? (someone suggested a bit of diesel in the oil, and idle the engine for about 30 minutes to absorb the water).

i too got some water in my motor, had something to do with trying to degrease the bastard!!!

But yeah, dump the oil...chuck some new stuff is, d/c the breather hose so it vents outside...warm motor up, then take oil cap off(with motor OFF)...help the steam get out....but its a problem that will fix itself as long as there aint too much water in there....

Just dont go bouncing it off the rev limiter ;)

I wouldn't suggest the diesel as that's used to break down oil AFAIK, I would simply just run some cheap KMart oil through it and change it daily for 4 days or so....

Good luck and good to see your back on the road!
