This may sound a little stupid but Im having trouble running power cable through the firewall.

There is a gromet with 3 pipes running through and a provision for one more. I have cut the top off this to allow the cable to go through but it seams to go through 4 inches then stop on something?

I've removed the glove box but can not see it so can not yank it through.

Is there an easier way? Am I trying to put it through in the wrong spot?

Please help!

Is the battery on the right hand side of the engine bay? Otherwise run your power cable through the driver's side instead. Usually factory grommets are only good for running small gauge wiring for alarm sirens, lights etc. For big cables it's best to drill your own hole and stick a new grommet in. Just check both sides and check again before you drill ;).

I'll try lubing that cable up tonight and seeing how it goes.

The provision is actually for a 4 gauge cable so.....logic would say it should go through...

Yep Daz that's me!

I bought a 99 WRX about 4 weeks ago. It's a perfect car for my current situation (About to get married and have kids) hehe

I feel like just another Wrex driver, but Im not complaining, sure beats the VP SS I had to down grade to when I bought the house.

We've all got to settle down some time.....

I got that cable through too, finally, it was just getting caught up in the underfelt! Geez I feel like a fool

Ahh mate!

Those amps you sold me are still going strong. I'm using the 400 in the '5, and Revhead is borrowing the 250 in his R33. Running cable was easy for me as battery is already in the boot ;).

IMHO I don't think you can get any better Amps than RF!

Im glad to hear your still happy

krisko,

Assuming its a manual
theres a grommet on the left hand side (looking at the engine) near your ABS piping. put it through there then pull back the carpet under the clutch then u should be able to feel the cable near the top of it. i have just ran 1gauge through one. so there is plenty of room for it. just run the cable from the + terminal and zip tie it to your aircon pipes then behind your intercooler then behind the ABS pipes into the grommet into the firewall.
