ok i am going to perform a SR20det transplant soon but i was goging to rebuild motor first with new pistons rods turbo exhasut manifold etc so i was thinking what are the differences between the two motors as if i am rebuildign it i would be better off getting a SR20DE and saving the money as i will relpace most of the different parts to start with

If you get a SR20DE you will still need to get the manifolds turbo, computer, injectors etc from a SR20DET

So it would probably end up costing more

There are differences in the two motors, one being the DET has oil squirters at the bottom of the pistons. I've seen DET version of the DE, but I guess it is really up to personal choice, and what work is being done to it. There are other slight differences but can't remember off hand.

Mate if it was me i would just start with the DET model like paydirt said. Are you gettin aftermarket pistons and rods etc. If so keep us posted on prices etc.
