Power FC VS SAFC

yo guys!!

i have got a apexi-PFC sitting in my room which i got it off a mate in this forum ;)

so what sort of differences will a PFC compare to a apexi-SAFC..

no doubt alot of us will say "noting beat a after ECU" :o
BUT, by what sort difference does it really make..


(silly question from a guy who is willing to learn)

the difference is light and day between the pfc and the s-afc .
s afc only controls fuel the power fc controls timing, fuel can even control boost with the optional pack. a stock r33 running 14 psi made 150 rwkw with power pfc and 13 psi the same car made 170 rwkw they make a big difference fit it and get it tunned and you will see it is well worth it. you can also change injectors and afm with the power fc much more useable and it takes 5 mins to install where as the s-afc take 30mins to 1 hour to fit.

the latest HPI build-up R34 GTT made only 7kw over standard ECU with the addition of a PowerFC tuned by CRD. the GTT also had a FMIC, hiflowed std turbo, exhaust and upgraded fuel pump? (according to the HPI video)...

i dont think there is an exact science here. the pfc will definately give you the ability to tune ignition and fuel but i wouldn't be confident in saying "installing a pfc will give you atleast 10kw"

I can get a power FC for a reasonable price, but have heard they're not that good on the subaru EJ20-Ts??????

What do people think about this? I figure, if i can find a good tuner it should be ok. I'm not after huge power, just a reliable 160-170kw atw! :D

Well all I can say is that as soon as I have the dosh ill be getting a power fc for my r32 gts-t

SAFC just intercepts the AFM signal before it hits your ECU.

PFC, removes speed restrictor (if you have an import)
change the rev limiter
knock sensor using the engine warning light
injector warning
400 ignition and fuel load points
water temp correction
injector sizing
afm sizing

etc etc

are second pfcs ok to get??... ive been considering this for awhile but dont know what to make out of it..
