aftermarket ecu & factory knock sensor

Can all the aftermarket ecu like Motec, Autronic and Haltech work with the factory knock sensor?
i.e. the ecu retard timing if detonation is detected

motec can,the autronic sm2 can and soon the new haltech can(at a much cheaper price!)
