Hi,
i am after a set of polyurethane bushes to replace the current rubber ones. they are the leaf spring pad/saddle bush (the ones that sits inside the brackets which go around the leaf spring which hold the diff housing to the leafs)

the car in question is a 1973 mazda 1300.

no company lists them under the 1300, but i managed to find a set which are the same dimensionally at the back of the nolathane catalogue (part no. is 47113). However after calling nolathane, i found that nolathane havent made that part in 3 years. so any stock lying around is all that is left of this item (if there is any more of this stock :() i tried rare spares, national parts (suppliers of super cheap auto), kmac, whiteline, etc but none have any.

super pro didnt seem to have anything to suit, but am not too sure as their catalogue doesnt list any universal parts or anything.

is there any other company who makes them to suit this car, or even custom makes them (of course depending on price :))?

I cant seem to get a hold of a noltec book, so if any1 has one, it would be much appreciated if you could let me know

mackay dont have them either. if it really comes down to it, i will just replace them with genuine mazda rubber ones, but i dont really want that to happen.

so, any help would be much appreeciated in finding a set

Have you tried Pedders? I have their urethane bushes fitted and am very happy with them. No squeeks after they took a week or so to bed in.

ok thanks for that, much appreciated.

macgillacuddy,
about 10 minutes after i posted this, i had the great idea of searching on the net for noltec :) but anyway, i find the one, give noltec a call this morning, and they cant make them anymore either...unless i want to bring in a sample and theyd make it custom. He said this was gonna be "quite costly". but if worse comes to worse i might just do this.

tek,
are they pedders own brand? or do they just get nolathane items like most others do? i rang pedders this morning and they couldnt help me either :(

anyway, i guess ill keep searching for a solution...i know theres one out there :)

All of Pedders' doco says they make them themselves, so we'll just have to believe that unless someone wants to expose them :P

You know you can make your own from urethane, just have to make a mold from your existing or new bush.

sssgtr, do you know any1 that makes these provided i give a sample? i dont trust myself enough to make my own mould :)

See if you can get 5 or 10 other blokes with the same car and all chip in for the custom bushes - it will bring the cost down

i think dpending on how hard you want the bushes you may be able to ge some turned u on a lathe? some of that polurethane is fairly hard.

worth a shot if you can get ahold of some blocks of it

good idea for damper bushes - bit difficult with leaf spring saddle isolator pads;)

If you can find another nolathane bush which is fairly similar, you might be able to modify it to get it to fit.

ok thanks all for that.

some good suggestions.

i ended up (thanks to wayne from allsprings :D) finding a set similar to the std ones (where everyone else simply said they dont have anything, wayne actually had a look at all the pads he had and found these ones), which suit an eh holden. main issue is they need to be deeper where the leafs go, and a few millimeters taken from each side of the outside diameter.

Pedders alexandria said they will send it to noltec (free of charge :)) to get a quote off them to see if they can modify them to suit the sample.

so hopefully in a couple of days, all is good news:)

thanks all
