Turbo noise????

After driving no matter how hard or not and letting it cool for up to 5 mins after turning off the key, I can hear the turbo spool down to nothing. It takes some 3 - 5 seconds. I thought it may be due to the fact that I have a custom dump pipe and not the factory cast one. Is this the case or is the turbo telling me something? :(

what sort of turbo/car ??

i can sometimes hear mine spin down.... then a few days later it started blowing smoke after a hard fang/backoff..

but its fine on 10psi..... nfi!!

Turbos do keep spinning for a short time after the engine has been turned off its just a momentum thing not sure of the exact RPM at idle but most turbos spin over 100,000rpm on boost. So it will take a few seconds for them to stop spinning.
