Go to the Ozdat classified and a guy on there is selling them for $350 which includes freight anywhere in Aus. Hope it helps.

PS - I'd suggest this would only be the crossmember though, and maybe the tunnel/shifter casing which need to be welded into place. Anyhow let us know what you get for the $350 if you do inquire.

Craig from maddat does the conversion kits for 1200's.
I was there today and he has just finished fitting a ca18 into a 1200 ute.
This is his site

What does the kit include, I mean the box is nowhere near in a position to line up with the shifter hole, I'm welding a new box piece over the original, moving the shifting position back a few inches. Does it include a grearbox x-member aswell? I would like to know as it seems pretty cheap as far as I'm concerned, I probably wouldn't have wasted my time doing it myself.

he suggests a skyline 'stumpy' box not the one that comes with the ca frontcut. the kit is for the motor i assume he can also provide a gearbox kit. have to email the bloke to be sure. this is second hand info...

I thought as much with the stumpy box, I think I'd rather have the CA box personally. There is no need to modify with the stumpy box, bolts in with a CA bellhousing and no need to modify the shifter position as far as I know. I thought it was too good to be true with the whole kit.:)

what does the ca box have over the stumpy?????

the biggest drama with this conversion is going to be the diff!!!

I think I just sorted my dramas out last night, probably going to use a S3 TRX 10 bolt with a locker. Cheap and easy option. I'll probably go something better later down the track.

The box is newer and it just saves stuffing around looking for another box and having no use for the standard box. I find the shifter position is in a much better location aswell.
