sludge in turbo return pipe

I've not long bought a CT26 Turbo from an Importer. Upon pulling the thing apart, I noticed the oil return line is full of black sludge. is this normal? should I be worried about it? One more thing where do you get the correct spanners to pull the compressor wheel off of the main shaft?

sludge might be from storage.. you never know what its been through.. maybe just run some oil through the turbo to clean out anyhting thast colelcted in there.
