I know it's been done before.
But what about conversion kits, exchange crossmembers?

Any websites for me to look at?
I'm looking but can't find anything ATM to rock my world.
Any one here done it, how easy is it? Engineering?

done a few fj 20s, but i dont think it would be a problem to fit as i have put them in a couple of celicas without any problem!unfortunately there are no kits available that i know of!

Was wondering because a mate of mine is in dire need of a car, a friend offered me an ol' gem for nothing runs little rust. But he's after a little more power than a mild G160 so thought the SR20DET route would be the way to go. They're fairly inexpensive from Jap wreckers/importers.

Just need to find out what sort of money is involved. Before we go ahead with it.

slick, ive got a few gemini bits lying around that i might be thinking of getting rid of,

G200 fresh, about 1500km since rebuild, twin sidedraft manifold, but ive got sitting waiting to go on, a piazza manifold, Forced induction cam, supercharger and bracketing and ive even got a computer sitting around, with a fuel pump and RB25 TB. haven't got around to doing the necessary fabrication to put it on yet (some piping to meet up to the IC) and the throttle body, swaping the studs in the heads to bolts etc..

Yeah, looks like I've got to find another donor body for this project. Too much rust I think, got to have a clooser look next week.

I've got a good idea of what's required:
SR20 + box + computer & harness
Diff [lsd outta?]
Prop shaft
Brake u'grade [vl turbo?]
Master cylinder 4 new brakes
wheels to fit brakes [commodore chasers?]
suspension [braces, bushes, shocks, springs & sway bar]
elec fuel pump [vl]

is there anything esle???

i have an LSD in my gemini, got it custom built, also have VL rear brakes with DBA crossdrilled slotted VL blanks (undrilled studpatter) with rebuild kits etc...

and a whole gemini wagon :)

A mate of mine did an SR20DET conversion in his Gemini Wagon, from what i remember engine sits in with no crossmember mods (custom mounts though) sump clears, original sway bar passes through the sump so it has to be re-moved or re-made, he used a vitara aluminium radiator, the hardest part i thought was mounting an underdash clutch master cylinder. As far as blue plating goes, the usual unleaded fuel filler neck and front brake upgrade were a must.
