Hi,

Im toying with the idea of taking out my V6 in my VX commodore and dropping in a 5.7ltr V8.

Does anyone know the costs and other equiptment that would need to be changed?

From what i hear, the V8 itself costs around $7000, is this right?

Any info would help
thanx.

Y did you buy it in the 1st place?.
It would be cheaper to sell the V6 VX & buy a V8 one.

A tough of forced induction will help remedy the power problem....

Your right about the price of the engine being around 7grand but i have heard that all the shit you need for it, computers etc, is about 7 grand as we'll, so around 14 grand for the whole lot, Not worth it it the end.

Hey how's it going. I like the new gen 3 v8(great torque curve), but seriously as the other guys said you'd be better off selling the vx and getting the v8. You can buy the v8 in an executive, if money problems are a concern.

Otherwise if your still keen on your original idea I would say turbo-charge the v6. The same engine was used in the Buick Grand National(it was a turbo version though). Those things are monsters.
