Ok.. I know that a TA will take quite awhile to spool
and I am endevouring to pahse out as much as possible.. cos you are all going to laugh if I sit there spooling for 10mins before I launch..
so what about some of the Giggle gas???
what are PPl's experiences with it (not at the DENTIST!!!)
how is it with Rotaries?
I don't want to run 350hp of the stuff
just a sniff to get off the line.
If setup properly it will work fine :)
Are you running an auto? Otherwise it won't take you ten minutes to spool with a manual box because you can't really put load on the turbo on the start line (not including things like anti-lag of course)
There are quite a few rotors now using N2O
Just to satisfy my own curiousity, what are your goals for the car? If you are happy with an 11 (I think I read elsewhere), why not choose a turbo that is more appropriately sized?

Most of my experience comes from fogger kits and V8's. But I've seen them installed on several imports with very good results. I would also be going for a NOS kit if they were allowed in Japan.
But as far as a rotary engine goes, I have no data. I assume your going with a dry kit injected through the intake piping. I would think your engine would handle a 100 shot without much problem.
Just remember if you detonate or start to run high EGT's, pull out nitrous don't add fuel. Adding fuel will only increase the heat and the bang.

WDRacing .......... If he starts to see detonation then 90% of the time you can kiss the apex seals good by :( Rotaries don't like detonation at all ..............

wonder why they cant' just get their own thread.
My goals in the end will be to contest the record..
But for now I just wanna get the groundwork done..
the reason that i have a TA51 is because I got it for 1/2 price..
SO I can't really argue with that.. resale on it is higher than what I paid. and it's never been ran on a car..
so I'm just gettin all these things together now.. and sorta a running dummy fit, I miss driving it.
I have lots of options.. but at present I just wanna make Jam.. even just for show. then cruise
I don't think that an 11 would be outta the Q with this little setup
OK, that explains the TA51 choice :)
There are a number of quick rotors in Australia now running Nitrous (and a few more rumoured to!)
Rotormaster, Dyson, Phil, to name a few :)
Basically if you set it up properly it will be fine, it will need some fine tuning of course, and a decent computer to handle the ignition changes required when it is on, but yes it can be done well.
On a decently setup TA51 an 11 should be a walk in the park, hope the rest of the driveline is up to the power! :)

Yeah I hope to be there too.. it's a long walk downa short road and I'm sprinting.. think I have ahoel in my pocket.. all this money keeps falling out..
I'm not ruling out a switch to a t04 yet.. temporary.. but why should I switch.. I have this here and now.

Clark-E ................. most of the people on this forum are very helpful so keep the questions coming and I am sure the answers / opinions will to :) As a777 siad TA51 and the power potential to run an 11 second pass at the drags will be easy to attain with a little thought and it looks like you are asking the right kinda questions. From other people running these turbo's I would say that boost would start around 3500rpm and be on song at 5000rpm. What was your starting base again import unopened S4 block ??? What sort of boost are you going to run to start off with ???

My starting base is to be an unopened Import S6 engine.
and boost wise in the vicinity of 15psi.
I am upgrading the injectors and the rest of the fueling system to a suitable standard to take car of the needs and wants that I have from this car.
I'd be happy if this turbo started to spool @ 4000rpm to be honest..
so if it is on song at 5500rpm that's my expectations..
So many PPl have been comparing my turbo to that of Dysons.
Oh a TA51... it'll start to spool at 5500rpm... but i get the impression that Craigs Turbo is bigger than mine.
Can you offer me any insight into fitting this S6 engine.. Custom mount be the GO??
S6 engine ....................... that's a good place to start :) On a stock motor I would suggest not taking the boost over 16PSI or you will be picking bit's of apex seal out of the turbo exhaust blades and that's expensive :( Even with the methanol enrichment ............. There is some one on the forum called criter and he has a RX3 with T51 on 16PSI and he has run 11.3 @ 124MPH at the Creek :) What sort of car is it going in to ??? What box and diff you running ???

Yes I'm familiar with Critta and his setup.. he posted regarding the Turbo when it was for sale on the old fullboost forum.. pretty much the reason that i bought the Turbo
Having thoughts about selling the S4 tho.
It uses a S4 box and Standard diff for now..
heya clark-e, i didnt mean to be a pain in the asss, but i wanted to know the specs of your turbo so i knew of when it would spool up and dysons car was a comparison, because it wass running a similar spec turbo, i just wanted to know what details u knew of your turbo, so i could help u(if i could anyway) with what u asked about, the tuned length manifold wasnt it?
have u decided on how u would go yet?
sorry i just read the other thread and ur going with 2 inch steam pipe, ajc13b, the other guy who posted in that thread other than me and yogi, is running a 1.05 rear from memory on his ta45 front
did u find out about the s6 engine conversion yet?

I can't remember all the specs from the turbo.. I'm not going to pull it out and look cos I get depressed cos it should be hangin off the side of my motor spinning!!!
I was already sure of how I was going to fit the S6 engine before I posted but I just wanted to see if anyone else had valid Ideas.
Alway's open about these things.
Yeah I am going to go for a Tuned length manifold and I have a G-reddy boost controller on the way which has Wastegate creep (apparently helps spool up too).
So I don' t think that this is going to take long to spool at all..
And as you can all see I am toying with the Idea of Fitting a small NOS kit to really negate Lag when I need to (on the strip).
Everyone has been really helpful and I am pushing (not the car) as hard as I can to have it ready for the Jamboree.... so that PPl can see what they have helped to create.. with all their Idea's and advice.
I can't wait.. this will prove fun
