HQ+Lexus V8+gearbox, which box??

gday there, im buying an HQ and was thinking of putting in the lexus 8 (alloy! :p), but i want a 5 speed box for it...
any ideas on what i could use that will fit in the HQ?
(the HQ does have oodles of room tho :))

You can get adapter kits for the Lexus V8 to bolt up a Supra 5-speed. I think Dellows sell them.

I think taht would be a really sweet project, I want to put that engine into an LH\LX Torana though.

The idea of popping the bonnet and seeing TOYOTA written down the side of the block and watching peoples reactions would be priceless

Yes this is a excellent conversion to do. I am biased though.
The W58 boxes are about your only choice if you want a manual, otherwise you would have to pay for RD for another bellhousing.
Both Dellow and Castlemaine Rod shop sell bellhousings for the 1uzfe and supra boxes.

Depending on your diff ratio you might not like the supra box. I have always found 1st to be way to short and not really usefull.

I will be putting a 1uzfe in my GF WB 1 tonner soon. It currently has a 253 with a supra box. I will be useing the standard auto because I have an ECU which I can use to change gears at the push of a button.
