any one had any good or bad experiences with them?

what are they like on durability?

I have a set of 195/50/15's . I liked them. but I haven't compared them to anything in the same size..

They seem durable to me, but my idea of durable is 10, 000 km.. .. but I have blistered mine from road driving in a 900 kg carin maybe 6000 k's ... and its not like I had 400 hp either ; try 70..
but the wet grip is good, and they are pretty progressive on my car.

I'd say that most ppl would say FM901's or RE 711's are better..... but I can't comment..

I had a set on a rex (205 50 16) and concur with pretty much everything above. Great in the wet, ok in the dry with good feel and feedback and very durable :D

Ditto, had them on my Impreza on full sick 17" wheels :), and thought they were the best in the wet.

Perhaps a little shady at the adhesion limit though (at the rear). The fronts progressively pushed out wide.

I got an amazing amount of mileage out of them. I did run them for too long though - I freaked out when I discovered canvas on the inner edge after an Old Pacific Hwy run.

As everyone said, great in the wet, but in the dry, a bit wallowy but for the price, I can't complain. Very quiet for a directional tyre when new but after 10,000+km, it's starting to get a bit noisy (the usual directional tyre kinda noise).

I have had a set of worn F1's (ex Coyote) and found them to be awesome altohugh I had just made the change form 14" wheels to 16" wheels with the same tyre width so anything probably woulda seemed awesome. I now have Toyo T1-S's which are very similar to the F1's and to me they seem better than the F1's in the dry although it hasn't rained since I got them so no wet testing yet...

Maybe so, but id rather spend the $250 saved elsewhere.

They are cheaper, but not by that much... I found in 195/55 15s they were only $30 cheaper per tyre.

I wonder how much dearer Dunlop SP 9000s are, they're a better tyre than the FM901 and wear better apparently.

I don't think the F1s are bad value though, it's just you can get so much more spending that wee bit extra.

As everyone else has said, I've found them great in the wet, and have gotten fantastic mileage out of my three sets.
But they can get very soft if the road temps are a bit higher and you're using them really hard. More so than some of the equivalent tyres that are availble.
At least that's what myself and a mate have found when racing on them up here int he northern territory.

I looked at all the brands available here in Canberra in a 205/45/16 everything was at least $50 dearer per tyre. the Dunlops were $75 more each.

i got 2 new 195/60/14s on the front of the celica 2 days ago in the F1's and so far i am loving them. got them ona rainy day and a wheel alignment at the same time and can feel the difference. now i just need em on the back cos i am lighting it up everywhere :) the front just sticks soo much better than the old bridgestones.

gota wait till it dries out untill i can see what theya re like in the dry

F!'s are ok - I would noyt buy them again though. I had RE710's before hand and they were better.

Best tyres these days in this order are FM901's, RE711's, Ecsta 712's.

Once the F1's wear out it will be the Ecsta 712's for me - I have tried them on another car and they are superb - definatly the best performance tyre you can get a semi-resonable price.

Got some half worn F1's that came with the car, and they seem like a decent tyre. Not up with some of the others people have mentioned, the wet braking seems kinda ordinary. Haven't had a good chance to test out the cornering grip though.

thank god i didn't spend a cent on them - they came with the car ...

You're kidding aren't you??

I've had better than 40 K out of three sets of F1's.

Allthough I must admit they do get a bit loose once hot.

got two tracks days out of them so far, plus 25,000km hard driving- still got another 10 or so left in them. great in the wet, good in the dry. they turn to mush on the track after about 2 laps though ;)

i'm still going to try something else out when these have carked it.

depends on what F1 you are talking about, the GS-D2s have had mixed reviews, as you can see from the responses.

The recently released GS-D3s won the recent EVO tyre test. They look like a wicked tyre, shame they're not in my tyre size...I'll be waiting for the D2 to be replcaed completely by the D3 and throw them on my Pug. Until then, I'm leaning towards the Ecsta 712s.

i ended up gettin the GS 02 tyre, its pretty much scrubbe din now and its not a bad tyre.. fine for daily commuting etc. but nothing special

definately not as grippy as i thought it would be, had a scary moment on a 130km/hr sweeper :(

just like anything else it comes down to u pay for what you get!

I'm buying these tires very shortly and was interested to read all your reviews. But I'm sure they'll be an upgrade from the crap on the car atm which is 185/75/14's Goodyear Grandrallys. I'm getting 205/55/15's which I think will make a huge difference. They are costing me $120 each from Tempe Tires and I was priced from $150 to $200 elsewhere. I highly recommend the people at Tempe Tires very helpful and cheap.

I'd say get the GS-D3s, but they don't make them in your size. Going up to new wheels and tyres will make a significant difference. That is, it's hard to say that one tyre is better than another when you change tyre sizes at the same time.

I'd recommend Don Cornell at Bexley, if you wanted to call around. I know Tempe do well through sheer volumes, and their prices are one of the best around. If you want to confirm you would getting a good price, give Brendon a buzz at Don Cornell on 9502 4666.

Anyway, if you want to check out the GS-D3 here it is http://www.goodyear.hu/termekek_01.php?pr_tipus=Eagle%20F1%20GS-D3

Jsut thought I would note
they are the best I have had in the wet
better then some othewr big names but most of them were free tyres and a bit worn.
In the dry better then well most in price range and under, harder to spin in the dry in first when I hit boost.
the only Tyres I have ever had that the never spun up on a corner coming out due to open diff were some Perrelli's in the price of $500 each came with some 16inch wheels, off a RX-7 I was using thme to move my car around. but they never made a noise of no grip but not worth the money in my opinion.
F1's are worth it. Best in the Wet
