hey all,

i have a question,

I own a pulsar gti-r 1992 model.

This car is basically 10 years old, what i have been thinking about is whether or not the Jap Spec Silvia S15 engine block could be used to replace the current block.

All the other parts (pistons, valves, quads, box etc) could remain from the gti-r (if they fitted).

Is this a possibility, or because the S15 is RWD and the pulsar is AWD that there are differences in design meaning it wouldn't be able to be fitted in an east west setup.

Any thoughts - am i wasting time in thinking about it ?

Thanks - i know SFA about SR20DET's :D

that would be basically impossible.

Your best bet would be to rebuild your block or buy another block and rebuild that one. U could say rebuild it ground up with forgies, argo rods, nice cams, hard valve springs everyhting and u could have insane reliable power.

impossible and a waste of time. What makes you think only the block is worn out and all the rest is fine?

Like Playa said, rebuild yours or another GTIR motor if you want a fresh one.

bugger !

hey thanks guys, it was worth investigating but it seems like there's too many differences between the engines so it looks like i may have to stick with the current engine instead of having a nice fresh new one !
