Hi, I have a V8 VP wagon with 16" wheels and ABS, and I'd like to shorten it's braking distance. (for 'spirited' street driving only, not track)
How much work and expense is it to fit the VT twin piston calipers with the apprioate sized DBA slotted rotors & pads?
Is it even worth it, or am I better off just getting the dba slotted rotors for what I already have? If so do I get rear discs as well?
cheers

Hi
If you are genuinly looking for a performance upgrade, don't go with VT calipers, not a fair dinkum system and you will not be happy with it.
We do a range of systems for your VP which fit your 16" rim.
These are well designed systems and go for around $1900.
The contents of a system for you would include a pair of Twin Piston Performance Front Calipers (like the HSV Performance Upgrade, they are Black - no logo), Slotted 296mm X 28mm discs, Stainless Steel Braided Hoses, Master Cylinder/Booster Assembly plus more.
The most important thing is that these systems come with the engineers certificate concluding their compliance with Aust Design Rule 31/00.
Call me on 1300 55 66 40 and we can discuss further.

cheers brake man, I will get back to you when I've got the dosh and the suspension sorted!
If you want to improve the braking performance of your VP and hav'nt got loads of cash then simply fitting the DBA slotted an x drilled up front should do the trick.
Ive done the same on my VR SS and am using bendix ultimates up front and the bitch stops on a pin. took a while for them to bed in but when they did fffaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
For just a rotor and pad change keeping disc size the piston numbers the same it was a considerable improvement.
Rears are standard but with metal king pads. This isnt a bad setup for the track either. I get out on it every sooften and get no fade whatsoever. It great
