The sub in my VL seems to kick in with everything. The stereo will be off but just by turning on an indacator, shutting a door, or pressing any of the buttons on the dash, the sub kicks in. I know it's a wiring problem. I've been told to run the wires on opposite sides of the car so there is no accidental "jumping" but it still does it?????

Check all your connections and make sure you have large enough cable on both pos and neg on your amp. Also check both power leads going to the headunit. Don't use the standard ground for the head just screw it to the chassis somewhere - same with neg on amp.

Does it happen when the car is turned off as well?

Just check your cabling from breaks as well -- your amp should be off when your stereos off, so there shouldn't be any power even at the sub

Possible that your amp has a loose fuse, cable or has a dodgy input... it won't be anything to do with which side the cables are on (even though its a good idea to have them on seperate sides for other reasons).
