Also i guess u dont want a sub, or not in the future even?
What about ur front stage?
im trying to keep the weight down mate as its goin into a car that will run some decent 1/4 mile times
No front speakers, no subs
just want two 6x9's on the parcel shelf and an amp to run them
im willing to buy top quality speakers and probably a middle priced amp

I have the 320watt kenwood 7x10's, if you aren't running anything else you might want to have a look at them, they go very loud, and running them off an amp you can get some nice bass (mounted properly).
I run mine from a 4ch Philips DAP amp which is actually pretty cheap at the moment (like $300 from a few shops), its all chrome and puts out 60WRMS/channel. I have the 2 other channels bridged and running a sub as well, with the low pass filter on :) Great amp for the price IMO.

id prob go for either some jl 6x9 or alpine ddrive 6x9, amp u whould use a nice 2 channel. onlu need somethin like a jaycar 2x150rms amp or somethin similar,
if your only goin to be running 6x9's
then imo theres no point in running some decent speakers at the back as you wouldnt be able to hear them that well as if they were in teh front.
why not just run fronts instead of rears? wont have any wieght issues as with having them at the rear?
i fink sony sell the 222W amp for jsut over $100
