View Full Version : Please help with E-6K

I am experiencing problems with my 94 supra shutting off while driving and it will usually will not start up again for about 20 min. Sometimes while driving it will miss and Cyl 1 seems not to be firing.
Has anyone had any simular problems?

When it cuts out are the ignighters very hot if so you may have your ignition setup configured wrong , make sure you have it setup right for the type of igniters you are using .

if you have a e6k on a supra mkiv,email me at:
mazman808@hotmail.com
and ill give you a starting map with the setup that you need to get it running(you'll need a proper tune tho)
Or even better,send me your MAP setup so i can maybe have a look at it and see whats wrong in the setup page.
How are you running your e6k? piggy back or full..
im also running a e6k on mine,as a full ecu replacement

I bought the car with the setup and it ran fine with no problems for about a month. The e6k is runng as a full replacement, but i'll e-mail you the info.

T88
PHR Fuel rail
850 cc inj
MSD Dis-4
HKS cams
Dual intake pumps
etc etc
not sure exactly, dont know much about this, but like someone said, u may have been overheating ur ignitors or something and the dwell time on them is too high????
but could be way off

Rule out ignitors!!!
The problem is you can't really pull off a plug lead to check for spark, unless it is running aftermarket coils???
Maybe try checking the datalog??

humm....
Its not running the stock ignitors its running whatever is in the MSD box.
I'm getting the software disk hopefully in a few days and i'll data log it.
any tips?

Well.. I can almost rule out the MSD box because i plugged a new one in and the same thing happend.
Could it be the injectors getting too hot?

Hook the Ecu up to a laptop and check the duty cycle of them.
But i don't think injectors would cause problems in normal driving, even the stock 440's will flow enough for 450 flywheel.

I'm running 850's for injectors.....
I can't hook up the PC because i don't have a software disk and I can't seem to get haltech usa to send me one :mad:
Anyone have a E6k software disk?

Well thanks to Mazman I was able to get the software on my pc but now it will not connect with the haltech!! Ihave checked the com port and the cable and its al good. I even tried another pc and the same thing. Could it be the haltech?

Could be the crank angle or whatever it has setup in this department
explane a bit more about the connecting part,
do you mean,when you start the program,the haltech dos screen comes up and say"reconnect "
or ??
it should ask you do you wanna go :online or offline.
to run it online,you must have your ignition on.
just try and explane that part a bit more so we get a better understanding of the problem.
maybe some1 had that problem and might help.

Hey.
Are you running the software in pure dos mode???
If not, the com port may be busy, or allready in use by another program, so the E6K software can't connect to the ECU.
You need to boot the computer in dos mode only, or create a boot disk to load the computer in dos mode, and then run the software from dos, so the com port is free.
Anybody know how much it is to get a Haltech ECU repaired??
