Ok, being the great electrition i am ( ) i have proceeded to blow up my head unit by using incorrect wiring.

Just wanted to know what my options are now. Note that i did see smoke come out from it.....:(

Is it fixable (and if so howmuch), or is it now an expensive doorstop?

That is just like saying

"I just crashed my car how much will it cost to fix"

Without opening it up and assessing it, only an idiot will give you a quote (or even an approximate estimation) of what it will cost to fix. Could be $30 for a simple blown track or it could be well above the current market value of the head unit for a few blown ICs and various SMT componentry.

take it apart (well the top of it) and take some photos..

Also, what wires did you connect the wrong way?

Well thing is. Is tested it all out. Everything was working sweet. (All 4 speakers all correctly connected - fader and balance tested)

Then i opened my door, got back in closed it and then saw all this greenish sparks fly everywhere. Turned off the ignotion and about 5 seconds later saw smoke coming out of the top.

Ill try and get some pics up here asap.
