G'day,

How much would this cost?

A mate has an 88 Commodore with discs up front and drums down the back. He says that the steering wheels wobbles and that the brakings uneven. In his words "its like its braking hard then softer...like an oval not a cirlce (if that makes sense)".

I assume he just needs the rotor's machined. He recently just got the pads replaced, and said its worse now.

I just want to confirm it will be the rotors before he takes it in, and an approx cost of the job.

Thx,

Morgan

Measure the discs and make they they are within machinable limits.
Then get a mobile machinest to come out and machine them on the car.
This way they are true to the stub. Machining them off car is fine too as long as your machinest knows what he's doing.

New ones are cheap enough though if he doesn't have enough meat left on them to machine.

DBA015 if its a 6. Which it probably is if it has drum rear.
DBA017 if its a v8 or turbo.
Must be one of the very last VL's. As all VN on had 4w disc
