As you can see from the photos the car is faultless. I am after a fair price for the car and it has to go so be realistic on your offer and you just might have a soarer. Also if you want i can supply a 5yr warranty but its a waste of money in my opinion. These clean ones are built to last forever.

Cheers

hi,

according to some in the trading post $12 000 - $14 000 would be a MAX, but thats just what i have seen.

what would u want for it???

thanks

Well if thr trading post says its worth 14 then thats what its worth. But if thats the case then i guess i will just keep it. There is nothing wrong with this car it is accident free that means it has never had paint. The car was imported by myself and came with engineers reports stating it is a Grade 4. So if you think that a Grade 4 GT LTD is worth 14 then i will take 10 of them.

All the best in the lemon hunting!!

Good luck with the sale I have been trying to sell mine for about 6 mths now and still no luck. The general public can't tell the difference between a good condition top spec V8 and a cheap and nasty twin turbo as a result people xpect to pay the same regardless of model of condition it is the same a wanting to buy a Statesman for the same price as an exec of the same year.

Your exactly right there mate, but the person interested in buying my car would be a fussy buyer and know what they are getting.

Good luck selling yours.

CA18escort, "the general public" usually can read and understand that this car is a top spec V8 and because of this i went to the trading post and found one the same as GTR98's, immaculate, INCLUDING $2000 worth of wheels for 15 grand.......

so make sure u know your figures before making any mass generalisations....

300_GTR,
Have you looked at both of these cars? If not then I would be cautious, for those that have owned a Soarer for a while you will know that looks can be and are very decieving on a Soarer. Good paint and an interior are easy things to have but for the car to be mechanically sound is another thing entirely. There are so many little things that unless you have done your research you would not have checked. I realise that there are cheap V8 out there. Mine is one of them. I have been trying to sell mine for no other reason than I have bought a house and i need to move it. The price of a Toyota Soarer is probably one of the most volitile in the used car market at the moment because of backyard importers selling TT for $11,000-$12,000. That is slowly going to change with the new SEVS legislation and hopefully the market will stabalise a little bit. My knowledge on this subject comes from several years of experience in running an import company.

How can you offer a warranty on a Private sale ??

CA18escort
19-11-02, 05:24 PM
Southo,
Warranties on cars are just like normal insurance policies. That is how most of the importers put the warranties on there cars. I used to use a company call Omega Insurance. You pay you money and you get a warranty as simple as that (with the obvious clauses such as modification and servicing)

Yeah, I work for a company that Underwrites them, I know that part...

what I mean is that a normal private seller can not get an aftermarket warranty on a vehicle they are selling privately.

Therefore, GTR98 must be a licenced dealer - and therefore in breach of the forums rules regarding private sellers posts only.

Southo,
Roger that, I now understand where you are coming from. Just so there is no confusion either I sold my business several years ago. :D

Is it possible that it is the remaining warranty from when he bought the car?

This cars pretty much neat.

I'd value it at around $25k or so being a luxury car and all..

Leather seats, low km's, beige colour (expensive in Japan), Sports exhaust etc.

i OWN a 97 soarer
having said that

a 91 in that nick thats is desc should get aroun 19k mark.

whoever said it is worth 14k thats absurd.

25k is too much for it according to the market.

Next year this cars will go for a bit more because of the new importing legislations and stuff.

Its going to be more expensive to import.

The problem is not everyone appreciates what these cars got.

A bare soarer with maybe some small things may be worth $14k but not this 1.
