ok guys looking at swapping the family car for a street car,turbo ro something of intrest,so if you have something to swap just leave a msg in the post and ill get back to you,can arrange cash adjustment either way,i have got pic of the magna,will send them on request.
1996 magna executive.
v6 5speed si6 enhanced.
red in colour.
interior is in immaculate condition as is the exterior.
has 4 new tyre's.
has a regraphed computer.
after market computer chip.
has also got a sports exhaust.
sony xplode filp down face cd player.
car puts out 186kw at the motor.

is this the 3lt engine or the 3.5? How did you measure the power at the flywheel? Do you have any better photos of the car?
it is a 3.0litre
and power was measured by a Dyno.
got it done once chip and exhaust was fitted.

My email address should have been on my profile but it is email@example.com So did you pull the engine out or was the a guesstiamte from a chassis dyno. I don't want to rain on your parade but I would have to say that if the factory can only get 180 odd kws from the 3.5 with the cam, extactors, compression, exhaust and chip I have my doubts about yours. What did it put down at the wheels??

well if read up on the new 3.5 litre they do get 180 odd kw standard with out chip and exhaust i know this as my mate has one.so i think you might have to read a bit more about them.
my magna did put out 130kw at the wheels,from a dyno read out it was calculated for engine power.

The magna that get 180kws is the Ralliart Magna an that has been significantly modified with compression, cam, extractors, exhaust, and chip. the Std 3lt engine has 140kws....you can understand why I would doubt the fact that you can get 45kws or about a 30% increase in power from and exhaust and a chip. I don't doubt that the dyno put out 130kws at the wheels but a chassis dyno is really only good for comparing changes in output because by changing the ramp rates ect you are able to bump up the hp figure. Who was it that did the dyno run? Was it the people the fitted the exhaust and chip to show you the increase in power? Did you do a base power run before they were fitted. It is just a case of consumer beware.
Wel i aint going to argue with you obviously you must of owned my car at some stage as you know everything onviously,and my mtae has a standard 2001 magna sports and standard has 180 odd kw's.

I am not trying to get you off side but where are you pulling those figures for a magna sports??? the Magna Sports engine has the following specs.
3.5lt SOHC V6
163 kw@ 5250 rpm
317 Nm @ 4500 rpm
Those are the factory Mitsubishi figures
The Ralliart Magna has the following specs
3.5 lt SOHC V6
180kw @ 5500 rpm
332 Nm @ 4000 rpm
To do this they increased the lift on the cam 10%, the heads were modified to suit the increased lift from the cam, compression was raised from 9.0:1 to 9.4:1, they fitted ceramic coated headers, a different center muffler and the chip was re-written to suit.
My scepticism is based on the fact that you tell me that you can get 5 kws mor than Mitsubishi with 500cc less capacity and only using a sports exhaust and a chip. If that was all that it took why didn't Mitsubishi do that????
