Not really fitting with the glamour side of PF, so I'm not expecting many people with "R33", "Sti" or "Evo" in their nicks to reply... :)

Has anyone got any early 80s and older Yamaha dirt bikes and or bits and pieces hanging around?

I'm particuarly chasing stuff to do with:
1974 MX250 / 360s
1976 YZ125C
Late '70s YZ400
1980 YZ250G,
but pretty much anything will be considered.

Complete good bikes, complete rough bikes, parts, incomplete bikes, whatever, if you've got it, I probably want it!

My Dad, Greg Flood, manages Hard-On Motorcycles in Victoria.
Its his shop,we have second hand parts for just about any dirtbike you can think of, there are bound to be bits there that you may want or need. We have wrecked a lot of Yz/IT, Dt, MX model stuff up to about the '84 mark, and from memory, especially a lot of the h/j model early watercooled stuff. YZ125c stuff is very hard to get now, especially the alloy fuel tanks which people purloin for HL500 replicas and MX modified TT500s. The 1974 MX will also be very hard to chase bits for. Anyway, we have literally wrecked hunders, maybe thousands of dirtbikes, so its worth a try.
go to http://www.hardonmotorcycles.com.au and use the email form either the spares department or the manager. Someone will get back to you, Dad is always flat out but he is normally good with replying to email, especially regarding classic dirt bikes. His 1974 mk7 bultaco pursang 360 was on the cover of VMX a while ago.
I'll ask you a favour, if you ever come across any Kawasaki KX250A4/A5 parts, KX125A4/A5 bits, Bultaco pursang 250/360 parts up to 1974, or Complete bikes of either, please PM me or email me at mflood@utas.edu.au . I'm especially interested in the KX250 stuff, and I need some KX125 bodywork parts (and wheels!) for a hybrid 292cc klx powered evolution fourstroke class bike. Also there is a place in Victoria called Retro Racing who will also be very useful. I think they may have a website.
cheers,
floody

Thanks Floody.
I can't say I've seen ANY really early Kawa stuff for a while... The useless f12k wrecker in Wollongong wrecked a KX125A1 (? - the first of them!) a couple of years ago. It was a pretty good bike with just a dead motor, and he wouldn't sell it complete. Knowing how useless he is, I dare say he'd still have most / all of it.
It may be worth chasing him up, but I PROMISE that if you ring him and ask him, the first thing he'll say is "If you bring your old one in, we'll match it up"...

He's not the one in Kemblawarra. In Jardine St or DamnIForgot St in Fairy Meadow. www.yellowpages.com.au... :)

I'll tell Dad- He has a '74 KX125 which he is slowly rebuilding (e.g it is in a raceable, but not concours state and dad wants it to be perfect...he bought kawasaki's last nos engine parts in australia, which was one piston and ring set) but its missing sidepanels and has a few non original bits.
cheers,
floody
