well i am totally confused about a sound my car has begun to make

bout 2 weeks ago, i dropped the 4A-GE back in the AE86 after going through regency, wired her up and had her all set to go. First time i drove it, 200m down the road, a loud clunk, then grinding noise comes from what i thought to be the g/box clutch area. i turned the motor off, checked things quickly out, then thought i had better drive it home, started it up, it sounded like something spinning from go to a quick speed then went away.

That was the last i heard of this sound till today. Driving home, and the noise comes back. Harsher this time, and like a very high pitched revving sound. the gearstick started shaking side to side and then she stalled. DIdnt want to start again till i was doin 20km.h on the side of the road. This was about a km away from home. I dont have ne problems driving it, just the sound doesnt sound very good. I dont want to drive it, but i was wondering what u guys thought it could be.

My guess would have first off been the clutch not being tightened properly, adn a nut coming out... but now, im thinking it may be the gearbox from those shaking movements i felt.

Nehow it doesnt sound very good :(

ne help would greatly be appreciated guys

thanks
Andrew

Siezed thrust bearing perhaps?

Could be some broken fingers on the pivot point of the pressure plate.

Or the thrust bearing fingers may not be properly inserted on the clutch fork, I've had that happen before...
