I have had racebrakes rb74 pads fitted now for a few months. I've had them installed on the standard Nissan 200sx s14 rotors/callipers + installed them a few weeks back on some r33 gts-t rotors/callipers. On both of these combinations they are extremely noisy when braking, and just driving around with no brakes on. When just cruising around they make this whistling like sound that goes away as soon as the brakes are touched. I've tried using some CRC anti brake noise stuff but it hasn't helped. Anyone got any ideas of how to quiet them down as its really giving me the shits and if it keeps up I'm just going to bin them and buy some other brand.

I just had the front rim off to have a look at the pad and rotor and the rotor has marking on it where the pad is eating away at it. I reckon this is where the noise is coming from. Ok next question, what are good brake pads that can be used for street that don't eat away rotors and don't make loads of noise, but have a high fade resistance?

Pagid RS4-2

expect to pay around $400 per set of fronts though

you guys should both be running the same pad shape on both cars

E1406 is the shape #

You won't be dissapointed with this pad. It has excellent cold bite and is kind on discs too.Low noise also.Great modulation and good for all but extreme track use. The heavier car might benefit from RS4-4 for track but its abit noisy for street use.
