VL , From 6 2 8 ?

Im currently in the process of trying to find a short motor to put into my vl . What i want to know is what blocks can i use ?

I know i can't use a red or blue motor . I gotta mate who has a vk group a short motor that im thinking of buying . Some say I can use a vk block coz its a black motor . Another bloke told me that it does'nt matter if its a black motor i cant use it coz its outta a older car . can only use same model or newer .

Whats the deal ? does anyone know ? My only other alternative is to buy a new block and pistons from holden .

The vk block is fine as long as you use the vl emmisions gear on it, ie: set it up as per factory.

carcrazy: you sure this is this case? I thought that it just went straight off of the engine numbers and if you where to put the VK engine in a VL you would then need to pass an emissions test?

the emissions ADR's between VK's and VL's changed alot, ie unleaded petrol etc,

Im going to be using injection etc off a vs . Trying to find a block is starting to be a real head **** . All i can find is vk blocks . and even thats a mission ... and they want a arm and a leg for the bloody things !!!!!!

how much u lookin at spending on the block? theres at vt short motor here...

but then you would need to run vt emmisions gear....(might be the same as vs?)
