View Full Version : S14a Diff Centre.....
Can anyone tell me if the S13 diff centre is the same as the S14a diff centre.... I have found a nice 4.3:1 in an S13 housing but need it to fit an S14a car but cant be stuffed pulling them apart as i wanted it as a spare, i just dont know if it will work.
Anyone know for sure as i have been told differing stories.....
**ADDED BIT** i am more wanting to now if the housing are compatible as i have a complete S13 diff centre i want to convert to due to its gear ratios.....
If you have the whole diff it might work, look at the halfshafts as this is where the problems are most likely to be. If it helps I've got an S14a centre sitting on the backseat atm, saves you pulling one of the diffs apart.
Greg if i contact this guy and he still has it might i be able to borrow it to compare the 2. That would be a yes or no answer then wouldnt it :):):):)

is it buggered or still ok..... limo ro open wheeler..... if you wanna get rid of it i could use the case and centre for the S13 crownwheel and pinion if it all matches together ok..... then I have a spare
It's an S14a centre (just the centre, not the whole diff) so a viscous limo with about 110k kms on it so it ain't all that flash. Certainly absolutely fine for the street and most people might not notice how tired it is but hit a racetrack (circuit) and it's limitations become apparant quite quickly. If you tried to mate it to the S13 case and crown I reckon the left halfshaft will be a problem and stick out an extra 12mm. It's been a long time since I've fiddled with them and there's a bit of beer induced fuzziness affecting my memory. You are more than welcome to it though.

I am actually curious to know if the housing is the same in the S13 to S14...... not fussed about the internals more the case as i have found a complete S13 diff....... i am just so use to calling it a diff centre :(:(:(:( better get with the times hadnt i.......
i better rename this thread to while i am at it......
