check the pcv. it could be almost blocked, and thats why it takes a little time to pop the dip stick.

edit : do sr20's even have a valve? i can't remember.

On an S14 it's at the back of the motor on the passenger side. I agree, it sounds like pcv problems

positive crankcase ventilation. if it's blocked pressure builds up in the crankcase and so fires the dipstick out

how does it actually looks like? what is the sparkplug gap best for s14? i'm racing this weekend and does anyone know why my power fc from my japanese s14, when i put it on my oz delivered s14 doesn't run?

It's a hose and inside that hose is a oneway valve. Pull it off and make sure it's not blocked.

Depends on the power, how old it is etc etc etc. Start at 0.9 - 1mm and reduce if it's missing

Because they are different, not sure if or how you get them to work. Also important to have the correct model fc (eg, S14 or S14a) as they completely changed the ecu's between those models

Hehe.. i rebuilt an SR20DET which had a hole in number 4 piston.. it had pressurised the sump.. it blew dipstick out and coverd the un heatshield exhaust manifold with oil and it caught fire... it was easily controlled but still haha.
