View Full Version : kickdown cable adjustment on a VK
howdy people as the title says, i need to adjust my kickdown cable on my VK, but am totally unsure where it can be adjusted from. My car doesn't kickdown, and i NEED my car to kickdown :) is it a TYH350 transmission as well by the way.
i need somebody that has done it before, so if anybody can help i would be so grateful i will father, or even mother your children :D
I thought they used a vacuum modulator not a cable? if it's a vaccuum modulator you cant adjust the kickdown. but they stuff up reguarly. just buy a new one from repco.
I cant remeber if the V8 ones used a cable or not. generally you open the throttle until the secondaries are about to open, then put your finger behind the kickdown cable and pull on the cable, you should feel the step in the tension as you pull it. that step feeling should be more or less about the same position as when the secondaries start to open.
bunk on an EFI car of course but you should get the idea :D
cheers buddy, it definately has a cable, dunno it could use a vacum modulator as well. i will check it out tommorrow.
thanx for the tip.
