att 4WD'ers! What's a 5-Link front end?

Could someone please explain to me what a '5-Link front end' is?

And how legal are A-Frame rear suspension set-ups?

5 link front = 5 points of attachment.

IE, 2 x upper arms, 2 x lower arms and 1 x panhard rod

Quite a few GQ Patrols and 80 series cruisers (mine soon!) going around with it now. Gives MASSIVE wheels travel. Patrols + cruisers both have 5 link rears, so look underneath either of these to see what im on about, then picture it in the front end
