the other day, i was driving my car when next thing i new it just died, on the side of the road, after getting it home, i couldn't see what was wrong with it, so i started to replace parts,
leads, dizzy cover n bush fuel filter and all this other shit and nothing seemed to much much of a differents so i replace the coil,
when i went to get the coil everyone said the muilti-point fuel injection is same as all the other ford coils, which i found hard to believe, does anyone know the bosch part number of the coil ment for a EA series 2 falcon with muilti-point fuel injection, the one i got gives was a Bosch (9220061710) also has (30107148) in small letter under it? does anyone know which is the right coil or have had troubles like this, it kicks over and will run very ruffly if u got ur foot on the throttle tho when u take it off it dies, and it doesn't start to well and seems to backfire thought the intake

anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

yeah i believe the coils are the same. The first thing i thought of though was the tfi module. it sounds alot like what happens when that dies as its very common on these cars, when just driving along and the car stops and wont restart 9 times out of ten its the tfi module. Although im not sure weather the car will start at all when its the module so im possibley wrong.
By the way its that long part that sticks out of the side of distributor.

my mate had the same problem. a new TFI module AND the pikups inside the dizzy were $90 in total.

i was thinking it might have been the map sensor? can someone send me a pic of a TFI module

Thanks

yeah actually the map sensor could be a big possability. cant find a pic of the tfi but u can miss it, its grey and is attatched to the dissy with a big plug in it.
The map sensor is the little black box on the firewall on the passenger side with a vacuum hose and a plug on it. make sure that vacuum hose hasnt come of it or where it attatches to the manifold.

yeah i know where the tfi moude is, we took the map sensor off and the car ran 100% the same, so would that be the problem? i'll try to replace the map sensor and see if that helps we checked and made sure the hose was on right

Thanks

quite likely. if you unlplug the map sensor the car will run extremely rough and die (will sometimes keep running though but very rough) so if it made no differance then id say thats the problem.
I think they are around $110-$130 or so. but should be alot cheaper if you dont go to repco.
