I am in need of a company that does Dash Restorations. Im just wondering if theres anyone on here that knows of one or has had good work done by one.
I need it for my 1975-76 GC-GD Galant Coupe.
Or if any of the galant guys on here have a good one to suit I maybe interested if the price was right.

thats about the funniest thing ive read in long time troy. only good ones left in the country would be up for sale by grandma's for the whole car. and wreckers are useless at protecting dash panels, as you would have found by now.
i couldnt find anybody interested in remoulding my std seats to a better shape. so i didnt even bother asking about a dash resto for mine, the price would be huge.
i know with mine its not just a case of the vinyl going hard, its the foam like stuff that shrinks. and when you goto remove/refit it just never fits right. im at wits end for a relatively cheap solution. but i'll put up with the cracks for now
If you were in Adelaide I would have suggested Dash Original, they specialise in that kind of stuff. Don't know of anyone else in your part of the country.

Galantman: Thats what I thought but if you dont ask then you wont find out. I have just brought another Galant Coupe (GC) and because it was an ex-race car it didnt come with a dash in it.
I do plan to strip my other (GD) Coupe for some of the parts but the dash in it is also cracked. Melvin I do have a spare dash mat sitting in the shed if that would help hide your cracks. By the way the car I brought was an almost local car I only had to travel to Penguin to pick it up I think you may know the car its red and white.
Xfactor: So what kind of prices do they charge? Do they do a good job? Have you had work done by them?
I dont think anyone in Tassie would do dash repairs/restorations.

yeah, i know of the car. hes been tryign to get me to buy it. but its not got 1/2 the suspension work or adjustments i have for the track. and i havent got to the track yet!
Wombat Racing: I cant remember the price, but I dont think it was unreasonable. I was going to get them to fix my dash but I sold the car. Look up their phone number on the yellow pages website, they may be willing to do a dash for you and ship over to you.

Xfactor: I have just got hold of a copy of Just Parts and lo and behold on Page 109 theres an ad for Dash Original. I have had a look at there site and I sent a inquiry form to them. But I am not thinnking that it will do any good.
Come on other peolpe surely you know of some where that does dash repairs.
Yeah, but it's in Sydney; Department Of The Car Interior. Would probably cost you something between $150 & $300, depending on the size of the pad itself.
www.dashboardrestorations.com.au funnily enough do it and are probably the best in australia.
They rebuild the dash from the frame up so I hear from happy customers rather than bog and reskin like most places, freight would be an issue for you but i will probably send my 260Z dash up there later in the year too. Perhaps its overkill for your needs? If you just want a reskin there are places like dashboard doctor in melbourne, i think they have a website too

I have received a rough price from Dash Original $330 to remould in Vinyl plus what ever to freight it to them.
Forg and Mirage: I will try these other places as well.
I dont really care where the company is as long as the do a great job and dont cost a fortune. No matter who does it im going to have to freight the dash to them.
I dont know of any companys that do this in Tassie. I suspose theres not alot of call for it down here.
From memory you can get it done in a different colour cant you? Im assuming yours is black?? You could get grey if you wanted to lighten the interior. $330 is a bit more than I thought.
