Looking foward to 2005. Good to see he got in quiet a few laps too. I bet he's sore after that :) Wurz effort wasn't too bad.

Webber is probaby the only man in F1 who could challenge Schumi fitness-wise. He has done well over 100-laps testing the Jaguar during 2003/04.

I think his most was around 120-something....thats a shitload of laps! :D

Given i don't follow F1 "that" closely, is it suprising to see Toyota posting such impressive times or are the others just not getting stuck into it ??

No Toyota are just catching up rather quickly, still when it comes race season dare i say they will probably be a fair whack off the pace.

Cheers for that... I figured Toyota would be keen to get up to pace... :)

:) hgmonaro, i know what you mean. Ferrari 'break the lap record' every year at Fiorano. Sure looks good as a press release!

Toyota should be better than they are for a budget as big as Ferrari. Maybe this year they will actually beat Jaguar(Red Bull) in the constructors championship.

I Toyota do have the bggest cheque book.

I read on one of the 40 different F1 news websites that Ralph rekons Toyota might do a BAR in '05.

Webber's do'in pretty well for a first timer in the Williams. Glad to see his goal is nothing short of podium in Melbourne. I'm looking forward party in Melbourne Sunday night if that happens :)

Toyota are only outspent by Ferrari IIRC.
But Ferrari get better value for money :D

Winter Testing means SFA. When Button smashed the lap record at Barcelona (I think) in the off season, he was doing so with no ballast in the car.....

Well of course Ralf would talk up his new team :)

this happens every year ,for as many years as i can remember, most did'nt have there 2005 cars and if they did they used 2004 tyres .Weber had a 2004 spec car with 2005 tyres and don't forget the new aero packs ,most did'nt use them.ignore all times until early 2005 ,these times mean absolutly nothing.(2004)go webber, but i think it'll be a shuy benifit 2005.

Did I read that right - Marc Gene in a Ferrari? Could that mean Davidson has been promoted? or is Pizzaman and him getting all the car time and Gene had too look elsewhere for some track action?

Williams released Gene at the end of the season - well, they told him they would not be renewing his contract. Apparently they were disappointed with his stand-in performances when Ralf was off injured. INteresting that F1 Racing magazine had a little comparison between the performances of PizzaBoy and Gene and noted that Pizza had more races and a better car to drive when he was standing in (walrus vs conventional nose FW26s).

Davidson was supposed to test for Williams but BAR put a stop to it because they wanted Davidson to have a clause in his contract that said they could claim him back in 2006 if they wanted. Williams said no way, if we want him, it's unconditional. BAR didn't like that and barred (no pun intended, okay, maybe a little :p) him from testing with Williams......

Williams will pick up another test driver in the meantime - my money is on Coulthard. He can race better than any other available tester if called upon, and was a good test driver for Williams in the olden days... :)

good to see webber getting up there, annoying to see montoya on top.. its hard to compare anything without either of the ferrari drivers in their cars
