Mt Cotton is not.
Ever
Not even if we say "pretty please with sugar on top"?
If Darlington park ever hosts drift days you'll have to get past me and my picket at the front gate in order to gain entry along with (I imagine) many other bike riders - At the moment we can only get one track day a month if anyone's getting more time at that place its the bike riders because it would be put to MUCH MUCH better use than you morons will be using it for
Do it at QR where there's no decent track to hack up to shit
Keep away from the decent tracks in SEQ for fucks sake take your "sport" :gay: elsewhere
I hear the inner city bypass is a good place for Dorifto

Thats a pretty, ummm, 'short sighted' view. What might be more relevant is suggesting that suicidal bike riders keep away from the mountain roads around Brisbane where they draw the 'crabs' who then book car drivers as well. As a friend of mine discovered recently :)
The more motorsport uses tracks are put to the more profitable and viable tracks become. Anyone who really thinks that drifting is not a form of motorsport needs to hide their prejudice, at least.
Opposed to speeding "hooning?" on busy suburban roads/highways by your logic I could say because of cars we have speed cameras or because of cars we have police anywhere on "our" roads
Just because bike riders chose to take it to a place away from suburban streets and because your mate feels the need to go speeding in stupid places you feel a need to turn it back on me?
"suicidal" drunk drivers? suicidal speeders? suicidal red light runners?
260DET I've got no problem with legitimate motorsport events just stupid ones

The cop who booked my mate said they were there because of the high accident rate involving motorcycles on the near Brisbane mountain roads. I was there in the passenger seat :)
As an ex motorcycle rider myself, a lot of the riding is suicidal there. Passing in unsafe places, leaning over the center line when coming around blind right hand corners........... Scarey shit, I've had to take avoiding action myself on several occasions, came very close to taking a rider's head off once when he decided he wanted my side of the road in a right hand corner. Never once had a significant problem with car users there.
If the motorcycle fraternity want tracktime, get Lakeside back instead of knocking other track users.
260DET the "suicidal" thing the motorcycle cop was referring to is this
http://www.police.qld.gov.au/pr/news/media/2005/06/specials/fatal04.shtml
This is the reason they have been up there for the past month - You'll notice it mentions they were from NSW and from information I have is they weren't hanging around on the way up either and considering how well they would have known the road yeah it really fucks it up for the rest of us that dont' EVER do the shit you just mentioned
Infact its something that I have had a go at other riders for...
And being an ex rider you will also know how riders feel about cars being over the centreline I guess...

So?
I bet there's a high police presence on the gold coast highway of a friday and saturday night too

Fair enough they want somewhere to go to practice on their hobby but don't we all?
Surely you'd prefer track time at lakeside as well 260DET? Or would you rather see drift events at one of Australia's great racetracks?
