Webber for podium.

Kimi for the win, montoya 2nd, alonso 3rd

Webber 5th.. maybe 6th

Big Shumi should do well.

Should be an abosolute cracker of a race. I cant wait!

I'm a bit worried that that might be the best Webber will get for a while with williams going to bridgestone next season. Lets hope he drives well.

Montoya to win, kimi and fernando to crash into each other, sato to crash into everyone and anyone else, Webber to be told to use max revs and lunch a bmw engine 3 laps in.

If I was Webber and the engine didnt explode before the end of the race I would drop a massive 4th gear skid bouncing it off the limiter for the entire last lap.

Kimi/Schu/Webber in the top 3 would be nice, however unlikely.

Realistically I'm gonna agree with KwikJim.

Chinese Grand Prix - FREE PRACTICE
14 October 2005 | 9:12pm

14th October 2005

Weather: Overcast, very windy, dry. Temp: 22-23°C Air, 24-25°C Track

Shanghai (CHN). BMW and WilliamsF1 started their last Grand Prix weekend together as a team today when the free practice sessions begun. Mark Webber and Antonio Pizzonia were 8th and 11th in the morning and 8th and 16th in the afternoon in the last Friday Free Practice sessions of the 2005 season, the longest ever in the history of F1, with 19 Grands Prix.

Mark Webber:
Chassis: FW27 04 (T-Car FW27 06) / BMW P84/5 Engine: 1st GP
1st Practice: 8th (1:35.945 min)
2nd Practice: 8th (1:35.035 min)
We got through all of our programme today, We have been communicating well with Michelin to work out what we are going to do with the tyres and we have collected a lot of information to get through tonight in order to make sure that we make the right decision. We did a lot of laps today, because we have a new engine here which has to last only for this weekend, therefore we had a bit more mileage available. So far so good for the weekend, we
have to do the same job tomorrow.

Antonio Pizzonia
Chassis: FW27 03 / BMW P84/5 Engine: 2nd GP
1st Practice: 11th (1:36.208 min)
2nd Practice: 16th (1:35.709 min)
We had a problem with the rear suspension in the second session, which is obviously disappointing because I lost a lot of important track time, especially because I am learning the circuit. We have to look into it and see what caused it. Apart from that, it's been a good day, learning the layout of the track. I am sure there's a lot more to come from me.

Sam Michael (Technical Director, WilliamsF1):
We have had a good practice day in terms of mileage as our engines will be used for just one race. We evaluated brakes, the tyre compounds and cooling for the race all of which was ok and our long run pace looked encouraging. Unfortunately on Antonio's car we had a rear suspension failure which caused him to miss quite a lot of the second session. We have a solution for this problem for the race.

Mario Theissen (BMW Motorsport Director):
We have witnessed two very busy practice sessions on this impressive circuit. For the very last time of the V10 era of Formula One both of our cars have got fresh BMW P84/5 engines. This week-end marks the end of a very successful phase of engine development. Over the past two years we have tripled the mileage for the engine in accordance with the regulations. Despite this, we have managed to further improve the output of the engine which two years ago was already 900 bhp and 19,000

2 years ago 900. Yeah mate, ok. Keep on smoking that bavarian gunga. :D

They seem competitive here, might be a good race for Webber to win me some money finally...

Shootout mode?

Like Suzuka, Mark quick in the section with corners.

Bugger, only 10th for Webbo after a mistake in the final sector.
Oh well, I still think he will score some points in the finale.

Hopefully they won't announce the results over the PA at Eastern Creek tomorrow though.

Yeh the commentary was crap, specially Woods brand of verbal diahorrea. Why do they talk so much, get paid by the word?

zpeed

it felt even worse that every second sentance was about how mark webber was doing, like i know he is australian, and i know id like to know where he is, but damn not every second of the race, there are heaps of others in the field

Highlight of the race: Doorbos overtaking Pizzaman. What a fitting end to both teams' year. Forza Minardi

But when the F1 is on late night, we get the ITV commentry, why do we get Woods and co when its on during the daytime?

Similar thing applies to MotoGP. Brilliant commentators on Foxtel, but on TEN we get Baz (who is ok) and Greg Rust (rivels Woods for ghey).

Yeah, when its on @ 11pm, they put the driver comments, and I feel guilty going to bed late for work the next day, this time, they fucked me over.

Awful picture quality, the drain cover farce AGAIN, generally processional race.

At least next season will be wide open. Last time I lose money based on BMW :D

Yeah Bill Woods must have had a bit of gear to keep him going all day- jeez he was babbling. Normally Neil shuts him down but this time it didn't happen.
