Hey all,

The company my old man works for is about to become extinct so his current job will probably go to.

Essentially he's an electronics guru/technician - many years of fixing tvs/videos/radios/unique and odd things like scales, security systems and cctv readers for the almost blind. His most recent job is working with irrigation controllers that are controlled via the pager network to give massive savings on water costs to councils etc. Plus he's not a bad mechanic/problem solver/general fixer-upperer. Can solder almost anything including resoldering surface mount components.

Computer literate but not super nerdy in the computer ways. Did however buoild and program one of the first commercially available mini computers back in the 70's (the mini-scamp, available thru silicon chip or electronics australia). Did all the wiring for my 1jz conversion despite only having the basic ecu diagrams, and got everything working 100% inc cruise, tems, dash etc.

I guess he's one of the old school gentlemen engineers without the engineers degree! Used to do electrician work as well until he became sick of working in roofs.

Based in Adelaide and not really willing to go interstate.

So, if you need a guy like this please PM me.

Cheers,
Caelum

Bump. If he is anything like his son he would be a top bloke and a genius.

Too true my man.

Happily the company he works for has been bought out and his job is secure, with a pay rise. If your local council is interested in saving water via scientific and controlled irrigation methods (and is within reach of the pager network) please let me know. :)

And bigmuz if you can put them up I'll send him and Mum up for a holiday - he can wire up your 1jz while he's there (being an old holden man as well as a 1jz dude)!
