Me 2nd owner, bought with 43,000km, near stock running 1.3bars boost then. Only car I have modded, if I still remember what has been done over the years.

It's a bloody garage ornament, gets driven once maybe twice a year. Could make money one day if a collector is after one, only has 69,000km and no damage history.

Thanks guys

MR Punanny, nah always had the Evo. You are probably thinking of Brian (DaiOni) or Jeff (JeffET).
An FD would be nice but I'd rather an RX-8 :).

RSEA, stronger response :) and good value compared to HKS or Ralliart. The front pipe is a must for improved low down torque spread.

XCUZME, The car was sent back late 2004, but I continued to work abroad. Opsss yes RGII, the RSII were released a few months after I bought mine. The Evo has a larger track than the GT-R, so a GT-R offset on an Evo gives it an even aggressive stance.

Floody, I was undecided either white or black rims then, and the white has turned out quite good.

Thanks Rod, now waiting for to see yours.

I thought Lanevos were what they called lancer coupes that'd been done up to look and go like Evos?

xcuzme

Did the oil cooler need upgrading in these?

Alex.

xcuzme, yup +29 (front) and +22 (rear) offset. Note I guess you are getting 18x9 like mine and if lowered then you'll have to run stiffer spring rates and alittle more negative cam at the rear as the tires sits just flush with the guards and would otherwise rub...see my photo above. What colour you getting your RS in? I'll be getting the RS ones too for my next car.

Smelly, fit a new battery in while you are at it ;).

Rowds, anytime mate. You know I am keen on the RX-8 :).

Alex, the Evo and the GT-R are 2 cars in Japan I believe over engineered, both will make substantial power gains on it's factory parts with minimal mods and money spent. The factory oil cooler is a good size, just look at the size of the vent in the bumper. In fact I wanted to relocate it to the opposite side for a twin setup just like the JUN E5, but I'd have to sort out the oil pressure problems. With the kind of boost the car is running and the summer heat in Japan, it was logical to upgrade the oil cooler. My oil cooler ended up in my mate's car, it was a upgrade in his STI :).

Actually, I have a battery that's been unused I can just jibby in to get it running. :)

Because I am out of the country most of the time working, and I only get 2 weeks fly home vacation every 6 months. However I will be back for Xmas, so you might be lucky to spot it on the road :).

Actually not having a car around has been a good thing allowing me to save. Also this time I have been posted outside Japan for 2 years now, so I don't have to feel bad not having a car amongst the fast car and race queen culture.

...quietly saving till when the Evo X or new GT-R gets released.

im actually getting the 19x9, decided to go a bit overboard :) mine are silver, i thought the gunmetal was a little too dark. i was tame with offsets though, went +29 front and rear. im going to lip and slightly roll the rear guard though so with a 245 tyre i should get by without any rubbing. it seems to be a pretty popular offset to use in america with the advan rs. im sure you have stumbled across evolutionm.net :)
ive been waiting about 8 weeks so far for mine, so advan should be finished with them soon and then fingers crossed they will be on the car before christmas.

Let us know how it goes.

I haven't been back to the Evolutionm.net site for many many years now, back then too many riceboys, only ES Lancer talk and speculations of when MMC will launch the Evo in the states. There were only a few of us Evo owners then (from UK, Sweden, Germany or Japan) and we just got bored and migrated elsewhere. Probably not as bad now since they've had a play with the Evos.

As I mentioned before and what DrNick said.
If I could drive it everyday I would, actually I wouldn't the small 50L tank would have me likely at the bowser twice a week. When the car was around I used drive it only on the weekends anway and it's makes you miss the sheer fun and enjoyment of it so much more, more so now.

I am in the market of buying another car, I just want something different but don't know what to buy, same thing will happen I am never around to drive it so probably again something interesting...luxury, cruiser, but quick as opposed the Evo. I probably should make a another recommend me what to buy thread.

Shanky, hahaha with so many offers to help me walk the Evo.

Tomee, cheers.
