View Full Version : 1971 ZD Fairlanes.
Ok, now i get to post pix of a Masculine car for a change! My fathers car!
1971 Ford Fairlane ( zd ) factory 302W and factory auto, not many made in this combo, most t-bars were 351.
Its got just over 120 thousand original miles on the clock, and that paint and vinyl roof are all original!
Dad is the 3rd owner, the second owned it since 1972. he Picked it up with rusty 12 slotters on it for $4500 grand, now owes $7500, and has been offered 15 grand, but wont sell. Probably worth even more now, if current trends continue?
The blue shell is the one he is building for me, that i have mentioned in another thread here somewhere.
Photos may be slow on 56k
edit... photos have disappeared???

Geez that's in nice nick. Approve of the wheels, they just set it off nicely.
My old man's fave car though we never had one - always had ZF and ZG's (lots of them).
Nan's best mate had a ZD in bronze wine (351). Bought new and kept it until she couldn't drive. We heard she was selling it but by the time we heard about it - GONE. Turned out a local had snapped it up. See it around occasionally.
Fairlanes, Fairmonts and GS ALL > anything fake GT.

The fairlane is dads and is promised to my no pix of sister when he parts with it.
I'm currently looking for wheels for my Chrysler.

My late Grandfather had a ZD Custom, base model, which he parked in the garage after it got hit by a truck. Just needed a new RHR quater panel and taillight and it was good to go at the time, bear in mind this happened before I was born so iirc it was 1974/75ish. The car was finally released from the garage probably 5 years ago, had a bloody big palm tree blocking the garage! Not sure what happened to the car, hoping it was saved but suspect it was scrapped. Have always wanted one, namely a Zircon green with saddle roof and trim ZD 500 with 351 and the Ford 5 spoke sports wheels, or similar.
