How many BHP & forward gears?
Looks unreal mate. Well done.
thanks for the comments guys.
I dont have proof but have been told to expect 150+bhp considering I'm not touching the motor at this point.

Those bonnet vents are so ricey
Damn, how cool would one of those be with a mini V8?
How come there's two on the trailer in the first pic though? Spare? Looks pretty sweet though.
mates building one too, in the same shed.
theres an Yamy R1 based 2L V8 getting around too.
Yeah okay.

F1 is 2.4 V8s now Bill. :knock:
nice engine choice too those crazy brits have been playing with the zetechs for a while now.
Awesome.
Birkin = povo MX5's owners wet dream.
Cal.
Slight thread hijack, what cost and how easy to get are those bike motor based V8s?

zetec.
The FF's use them and they are pretty good by all accounts. Even if they don't have a 32/36 weber on them :D

radical sr8.
$$$$$$,$$$.$$ :D
Nah I'm serous! $10,000 you think? I think one of these in a Clubbie would be perfect.
http://www.powertecracing.com/v8_index.php
Says a deposit of 5000 pounds, I'm gonna guess they are $50k.
http://www.radicalsportscars.com/media/sr8_circuitdriver_jan05/index.php
Good write up. They are talking about 60 000 pounds for the complete car ready to go, so maybe more than $50k Au... That's in the ballpark for what a Judd costs...
http://www.cgimotorsports.com/radical_news.html
Post whoring completed. Sorry Anus. $57 000 US for the engine and ancilalries. $80k Aus. Still unbeatable, just not cheap :D

yeah irs gets exxy and it's heavier.
trying to get this on the road as cheap as possible, drive it, then maybe make it go even faster.
already thinking about selling it once its done and building a hyabusa powered one, anyway back to putting this clubbie together.

How's this coming along dude, any progress?
Hey allmtr, I'll get the measuring stick out tomorrow but i think its mainly 25mm, seems that alot of guys building chassis themselfs go with 30x1.6mm rhs.
engineer was around friday night, he's going to get all the facts for me now after hearing alot of different stories about getting it regoed.
been flat out at work so havent done alot.
got the rollbar and boot lid done, just need to clean up the welds and go to painter.

whats the weight of each wheel?
rims are 7kg according to the wheel guy

needs more 4AGE and mumford link, but live axle FTW!
wonder what one of these would look like in matt black? (shithouse id imagine)
did you buy it as a roller or what?
it takes about an hour to have it rolling around on the ground from the basic kit if you have wheels.
had it on dealer plates and blew the diff up with all of 100ks on it, all good now tho.
should see it rego'ed by early next month.
Nice paint scheme. I like it very much :)
Update
It's been rego'ed since last tuesday.
my whole body is sore from driving it alot.
broke exhaust bracket twice but fixed it good now.
Girlfriend wants to come with me everytime i drive it but she slows the car down considerably :(.

I wouldn't let her read that if I were you. "Are you saying I'm heavy"? Heavy = fat = you having sore balls. :)

Broken spider= not enough welding
Fixed for lols
Looks great - now I want one
Diff with 2 pissant spider gears ftl.
I haven't added up all the recipts but it will be around 50k rego'ed
It was planned to be a cheap bare bones build but i figured i'll probably only do it once so i splurged abit.
From what i hear, westfields can probably be done fore around 10k less and locosts (build chassis from a drawing, run around wreckers- swapmeets ect and the next 6 years of your life) can be done for very little but end results can very greatly.
Cheers mate- that's kinda what I'd thought.
Anyways, driving FTW :D
That looks stunning, well done :)
Can see how a little bit of extra money can make it worth turning around the car this quickly. From pickup to drive, around 240 days? Not bad!
Looks great, but why does it sit so high in the bum?

I think I figured out why you broke a diff or two....
How hard was it to get registered?
Really like this -
My one and only gripe is that the rear tyres need to be DOUBLE the current width.
Well done mate.
I think I figured out why you broke a diff or two....
How hard was it to get registered?
haha, that was just abit of quaife testing.
rego isn't that hard if you have a switched on engineer signing you off and once the paperwork is all together, don't believe all the horror stories, common sence does provale more often than not.
love it. How does the zetec compare to say a 4age?
Isn't rego a whole lot easier in WA compared to us here on the mainland?

Same seats as Ahab's got in his clubby...
Where did you get the seats from and how much were they? Look like the perfect passenger seat for my 2F car.
