Dave is a mad bastard. I still remember the various engines that were in this 10 years ago.
I thought he ended up going 20b?
Fark me, theres a motor in there somewhere.
Fark that looks and sounds great, cant wait to see it at the track.
Fuck me! That's a lot more serious then what I thought it would be! ETA to WSID?

from what i have heard yes,
yeah 600hp @ 30psi 8000rpm.
seems twin 38mm tsmart gates cant flow enough. looking at another option with plunger type gates that will bolt up. changing the config of the gates would be a pain in the ass.
should be good for around 750 with another 10 psi once he sorts it.
power isnt crazy seeing as though there are 13b's putting down 1000hp, however the rpm is fairly low so it should help longevity.
hoping for a shakedown run (just some 60s on feb 26) pending tech inspect
Shakedown runs happening tomorrow night?
not that im aware of. will update when i find out
Some guy who is neighbors with a guy who's cousin knows a bloke reckons this will be at the track tomorrow night. :)

One launch with nothing, the second run didn't look like it made it to the sixty foot mark. It looks like it has a heap of potential once sorted. I have absolutely no idea how he fits in the car!
First run broken throttle cable on the launch. Second run it lifted the front wheels and I think he did a little poo in his pants lol. He said afterwards that he wasn't expecting it to be like that. I think thats the first he's ever driven a car at the drags and look what it was. He's a funny bastard though. The thing is off tap.

jesus not much of that poor ute was left alone. looks like a serious amount of work. hope it meets its targets.
Looks pretty good fully dressed too.
Got a real doorslammer look about it in the rear (in my opinion).
yeah second run poo in pants was pretty much spot on from what he mentioned on the phone.

that thing definately needs more stock
this thing is epic, love it.
yeah as far as im aware. my trip down south got canned at the last minute :(
I managed to see this run 2 passes today, a 10.1 and a 10.8. Both passes were on and off the throttle all the way down the track. I am sure he will shave a couple of sec's off when he stays in it all the way.
thats not bad for his 3rd and 4th run ever :p
just spoke with dave, he was a bit worried giving it everything though said the car felt like it wanted to go straight. boost didnt go over, 10psi, and revs over 6000 according to the data. so sounds like could be up for some good numbers once the foot stays down
blackbart
16-03-10, 12:14 AM
Tell him I said he's a fag!
If he wont give it everything, I'll have a go.:p
had another few runs on friday night, best of 9.3, had a run with 129mph at half track with a shit 60 ft (1.5), though still doing some pedalling.
can only get 7 psi on the 2 step, if he hits the gates with co2 then boost spikes up to 55psi mid run. new gates hopefully arrive this week
This will be at the track tomorrow night. 8s maybe?
RICE_MOBILE
15-04-10, 10:38 PM
Awesome, can't say ive seen this run in person yet :)
new gates are in. if he can manage to keep is foot burried im sure it will be 8.xx
Fark I hope he plans on taking it to jambo?

16-04-10, 09:58 PM
If he cant keep his foot planted perhaps it is time for depends
only got 2 runs last night, first one no good. second ran a pb for the 60 (1.2), but car got skaty half track so backed off.
First run he bumped to 2nd on the launch, bunny hoped a bit, pedaled a bit, and still ran a 9. :D
2nd run was a nioce clean launch, but yeah it was getting a bit skatey by mid track so he backed off, ran a 9.6@109. :)
We towed around for a 3rd but they had closed the staging lanes by then.
Picks the wheels up nice :D

nice pics will pass them onto dave.
dave ran 8.8@14xmph off the trailer on sunday. had some traction problems off the line and was sort shifting at 7k rpm as he couldnt see the shift light.
dale if your reading this, dave sends his apologies for 2 stepping in the pits and filling your car with fumes.
also mentioned you looked very shaken up after your 160mph 'excursion' lol.

Its hilarious in real life, in a good way of course! It's tiny, way over the top in engineering stuff that drags you in for a closer look, then you see the height of the driver and wonder how the hell he is going to fit in the thing. :D
Love how the top of the wheel tub is higher than the top of the tray....

We were set up not to far from you, over near the new big tent thingy
This is good. I like the unique rear guards - not so much because I like, more because it's something different.
For anyone that doesn't know, these things are TINY. Must be a scary ride.

Just having a squiz, the owner build the whole thing.

Update time.
Engine shat about 18 months ago. Has had a freshen up and a new turbo (GT4508).
Makes 570rwhp on 30 psi at this stage. He doesnt want to turn it up just yet as would prefer to get some track time.
Had a few meets since then, and is now starting to get a few runs together.
I finally got to go out and watch/help last friday for the first full throttle friday.
Was running 32 psi (approx 600rwhp i'd say), the diff is a bit tall at that power with the 33"s that are on it, he said he will prob step down to 31s to gain some more rpm at the deep end.
Anyway here is a quick vid i did up.

Was great to see this thing make decent back to back passes.
It obviously has plenty more in it with some suspension tuning, gearing and more boost but it is getting down the track fairly consistently.
And your brother is a top bloke. But no idea how he fits in the thing. Fuck its small !!!
2075lbs with him in it (83kg), he said it would be 200lbs lighter if he built it today
Awesome. Definitely more in it!

Has he changed much of the engine layout? He was saying it was a pain in the ass to work on before.
nah, pretty much the same, no intake pipe for the turbo now.
