This is not to everyones taste but thought some may enjoy.
A British L300 Delica thats been built to replicate the Jap look that some do.

Cool build but the guy seems a little pedantic.
Imagine spilling a beer in the thing, probably end up dead in the forest somewhere!

I wanted to hate that because it was a Delica but man, that thing is super impressive even if the owner is a bit OCD. I want to know what the super rare part is now!

I don't understand why he bought numerous cars just to pull bits off them. Is it that hard to get parts in the UK?

The parts he wanted are bloody near impossible to find. That said I reckon a few guys here could probably find the bits! Wanted to do a similar thing to this on a L400, didn't end up getting a Deli and I reckon doing half what this one has would get me defected into next century.

Might be impossible to find in the UK but isn't it just all JDM stuff? Not hard to find and agent in Japan or use one of the many companies set up to do it...

No, some of the stuff really is nearly impossible to find. Remember we're talking about a 20 year old japanese model which only really gained a cult following in the last 10 years, if that. Until then they were an intersting variation of a common garden shed, granted some farsighted companies made bits for them but on the whole what was made for them wasn't made in huge numbers. A good expample is the remote controlled stainless steel IPF search light on the roof. I've seen them listed by IPF numerous times over the years and have seen a couple in photos but from all accounts they really are almost impossible to find, IPF reportedly only made a thousand or so of them and most went to Japanese emergency services or civil defence. Which means most would have probably been destroyed by now. The wheels are another example. Centerline tooled them up especially for the Japanese market, my understanding they were never sold in the US, for use on Pajeros and the like, yet are again almost impossible to find even second hand, especially not in that size. Although I have heard that centerline can infact produce the centers still, not sure about the outers although they are probably the easy bit. And any bits that were made and are still around are probably fitted to otherwise serviceable vehicles who's owners don't really want to strip bits off.
Now excuse me I'm trying to trackdown a 22reT 4runner.
