View Full Version : Curly/Spring cords
Anyone where to get some curly cords, like what you use to connect buttons on the steering wheel?
Needs to be 3wire at least.

http://www.curlycords.com.au/ has steering wheel cords for $45.
Surely somewhere else would have them cheaper. I just tried searching for spiral wire, coiled wire etc...

or cut the ends off a $10 ebay/servo phone car charger and use that.

The ghetto way is using a phone handset cord :P otherwise fork out around 30-50 for one with multiple cores.
Phone chargers tend to be 2 wire, otherwise i would have done that. Going to see if i can get a CB extension cable, they are usually 4 pin.

I have a couple of sets left over that I can send you for the cost of postage.

Yeah, interested. Will get back to you if i cant find a CB cable.
Its just for the buttons to control the dash unit, doubt there would be much current at all.

Yeah. The ones I have were CB cables. I tried to find where I got them from. Cost around $20 each.
Want to put them in an express post bag if i shoot through some cash?

Yeah, sure. Is one enough? The other couple are soldered to things, and I can't figure out if I'm finished working on them.
Here is a pic next to a rodent for size comparisons. It has four insulated conductors and a shield.
