Question Tuning options for the other AWD car's..

I will need to do something about tuning my VR4 shortly due to already hitting fuel cut & wanting a bigger turbo. I Live in Townsville, north Queensland - AWD dyno's aren't exactly available. (try Brisbane, 1200km away!) Has anyone got their AWD car chipped/tuned without a dyno and what did you do? I was planning on either a remapped stock ECU (VR4's are about the last Mitsu chipable) or an interceptor such as a unichip or S-afc due to funds. (I can't afford a decent standalone or the turbo to need it) In the states, most VR4/DSM owners use S-AFC's and tune themselves so I have/can get a lot of info on this. Any thoughts?

Can you disconnect or disable the rear wheels on those, somehow? Maybe pull the entire tailshaft?

not without rooting the viscous centre diff. If I had a locker in there it would be a piece of piss. The Jap VR4's actually have the option to run FWD without pulling everything apart but alas, I dont have that option.
